The Ethnographic Museum is housed in the so-called “Katerina house” with ornaments of old Renaissance architectural style. This is riverside oriented, in the foothills of the historic hill and welcomes its guests in the museum complex from Chiprovtsi. The house accommodates a collection of interesting ethnographic lifestyle and culture of the torlacs, but also garden plants for natural dyeing of fabrics. There is also a Tourist Information Center.
The ethnographic exhibition of the museum is now housed in the Katerina house, being unique in the country for the collection of living plants for dyeing the wool used in carpets production. The Ethnographic Museum is dedicated to material culture of the torlacs, to which belongs, also, the Chiprovci population. You can see traditional costumes of the region and many elements of the traditional lifestyle of the rural population and the urban lifestyle, also.
